The lighting of the first candle of the Advent wreath marked the beginning of a new liturgical year in the Catholic calendar.  As a mother figure of MFS, Ms Yeh, the Supervisor, lit the candle of hope and gave an uplifting and spiritual speech in which she stressed, ‘True vigilance calls us to discern others’ needs and give more than we take: lightening classmates’ study burdens, comforting the sick and lonely, and serving generously.  Right now, it is especially timely to reach out to the Tai Po Wang Fuk Court Fire victims, easing their grief through tangible compassionate acts.’
