S4 Life-Wide Learning Day: Visit the Green Field Farm with the Elderly
2026-03-31

On Life-Wide Learning Day, students from 4B and 4D went to Green Field Farm together with the elderly from the St. James' Settlement (Wan Chai District Elderly Community Centre) to take part in an intergenerational farming and gardening experience. The day’s activities included learning basic gardening skills, such as tilling the soil, sowing seeds, and watering the soil. Working alongside the elderly, students helped to take care of the farm while sharing their farming experiences and life stories throughout the process.

Through interacting with the elderly, students not only experienced the joy of farming, but took a moment to escape from the pressures of urban life, and learned about patience and wisdom from the elderly. They came to appreciate the value of cross-generational communication and truly understood the meaning of “intergenerational integration.”
