In early October 2025, three of our Secondary 4 and 5 students embarked on a cultural exchange trip to Italy, delving into the world of art and design through a program hosted by the Sham Shui Po Youth Corps. This initiative brought together student leaders from local secondary schools.
During the 8-day, 7-night exchange trip, our students visited iconic landmarks, such as the Cathedral of Italy and the Colosseum in Rome. They also had the opportunity to visit the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Italy and a local design academy. These experiences enabled them to absorb the essence of artistic creativity and enhance their understanding of the creative industry and its prospects for development.
In addition to exploring historical sites and contemporary design practices, the students engaged in workshops that encouraged critical thinking and collaboration. They participated in discussions on design principles and trends, which helped them refine their own creative perspectives. The exchange also underscored the importance of cultural heritage in shaping artistic expression.
Furthermore, they gained valuable insights into Italian culture and customs, deepening their appreciation for diversity and fostering a global perspective in art and design.
Throughout this journey, our representatives engaged with student leaders from various schools, facilitating mutual learning, exchanging ideas, and strengthening friendships that will endure beyond the program.
