On Life-Wide Learning Day, 4A students, accompanied by the “Concern for Grassroots' Livelihood Alliance Limited,” went to Sham Shui Po, Mong Kok, and Tai Kok Tsui for a visit to subdivided units. Guided by social workers, students entered the subdivided units in person, talked with residents, and learned about the actual living conditions and daily hardships faced by low-income members of the community. They also assisted in distributing simple supplies.
From this experience, students witnessed the city’s housing issues firsthand. Not only did it help them develop empathy and a sense of social responsibility, but reflect on the unequal distribution of resources, and appreciate the living space they had. These students look forward to serving the community in the future.
