English serves as the principal Medium of Instruction (MOI) across our academic curriculum and co-curricular campus life, aligning with the Education Bureau’s (EDB) vision to cultivate bilingual and trilingual graduates who can thrive in a globalized world. Within our school, all formal occasions, official notices, assembly addresses, and daily announcements are delivered in English, establishing a rich, natural, and immersive linguistic environment. This school-wide immersion ensures that English is not merely an academic subject, but a living, breathing language of daily communication.
To facilitate a smooth and anxiety-free transition from primary to secondary education, selected junior secondary classes adopts the "allocation of time to subjects" framework. Under this arrangement, specific content subjects are taught in Chinese to ensure students master essential conceptual knowledge without being hindered by early-stage language barriers. This strategic medium of instruction for selected subjects is designed to bolster core academic confidence while English proficiency is systematically built up.
To further support individual student progress, we practice small-class teaching in language courses. By reducing class sizes and creating split groups, our experienced educators can provide more tailored guidance, address learner diversity in a greater extent, and optimize overall learning efficacy.
Meanwhile, our Language across the Curriculum (LAC) team actively collaborates across diverse Key Learning Areas (KLAs) to reinforce content-based academic language skills. Through this interdisciplinary curriculum mapping, we ensure that students can confidently navigate English-medium learning, especially when bridging the crucial gap from P.6 to S.1, and when progressing from the junior levels of S.3 to the senior curriculum of S.4.
Beyond the formal syllabus, authentic language acquisition is reinforced through experiential daily activities and specialized enrichment. We offer professional training in public speaking, drama, and debate to stimulate students' expressive abilities, critical thinking, and linguistic confidence. Backed by EDB's strategic grants and a dedicated Native-speaking English Teacher (NET) scheme, our co-curricular landscape provides a vibrant playground for students to learn English with joy and put their language skills into practice in real-world contexts.
