Welcome to our newly renovated school library! Designed with students’ comfort and academic success in mind, our updated space offers a cozy atmosphere perfect for reading, studying, or relaxing. Our new facilities include plush sofas, dedicated self-study corners, and private study booths for those seeking extra focus. We also feature a discussion room for group collaboration and even a brand-new mini theater for special screenings and multimedia learning. Whether students are diving into a new book or working with classmates, our library is the ideal spot to nurture their love for learning.

Morning Reading Period

To cultivate a vibrant reading culture and foster lifelong learning habits across the school, the Morning Reading Period takes place every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:15 to 8:35 AM (immediately after assembly). 

Key activities include:

• Self-Reading Time: Provides a quiet, focused environment to spark students' interest in reading and help build a sustained daily reading habit.

• Religious Article Sharing: Exposes students to Catholic articles that encourage moral reflection, spiritual development, and personal growth.

• Subject Reading: Promotes Reading Across the Curriculum through engaging materials across various subjects, themes, topics, and values education—broadening general knowledge and fostering self-regulated learning.

• Book Sharing Videos & Subject Exhibitions: Addresses learner diversity by encouraging students to explore academic topics through recommended books across diverse formats and perspectives.

• Student Sharing: Empowers students to build self-confidence, leadership, and public speaking skills through peer-led sharing sessions.

Fr. Geitner Reading Award Scheme

As part of our commitment to fostering a love for literature, we are proud to host the Fr. Geitner Reading Award Scheme. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to a generous group of alumni whose kind donation has made this scheme possible, supporting the next generation of readers in our school community.

The scheme encourages students to engage deeply with a variety of texts through the following categories:

Active Reader Award:
Awarded to the top 3 students in each form who borrow the most books throughout the year (including the School Library, SJRC, and HyRead).

Reading Record Award:
Awarded to the top 3 students in each form who submit the highest number of quality reading records via the SJRC Reading Platform (金閱閣) between September and May.

Book Sharing Award:
Awarded to 3 students per class, selected by their class teacher, for outstanding performance in student sharing and exemplary behavior during the morning reading period.
